Unionism in Higher Education

Unions in HigherEd represent faculty, graduates students, professional and civil service staff. On the Carbondale campus the tenure track and non-tenure track locals form the two faculty associations and the Civil Service staff as well as the Graduate students are also represented by the Illinois Education Association. As a result these four locals work independently and together to represented most of the academic students facing workers on campus. Below you will find some links to helpful articles and websites about the state of Higher Education in the United States, the work of Unions on campuses like ours, and other information that is useful to union members.
